Joint Statement between the Sudanese Communist Party and the Sudan Liberation Movement/Army
In the context of the coordination and joint work between the Sudan Liberation Movement/Army (SLM/A) and the Sudanese Communist Party (SCP), and following the previous meetings and signed agreements, including the meeting between the leaderships of the two organizations which took place in Juba in 2022, the joint political declaration which ratified on 25th of January 2024, added to all these, was the latest meeting in Entebbe between the representatives of both parties, that convened on 5th of September 2024 . However; this joint declaration whose terms are listed below comes as reassertion to and fostering of those previous efforts and agreements:-
To stimulate and improve the terms of these joint declarations and reemphasize the non-alignment with any party to the ongoing conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSFs).
To work earnestly in order to stop and end the war and open the humanitarian corridors and deliver relief and assistances to all those war- affected population across Sudan.
Denunciation of all violations and crimes that perpetrated against innocent civilians by both parties to the conflict and their allies.
To work together to establish a broad civil front, based on new methodologies, principles and approaches, in order to overcome all the previous alignments and alliances, including all the Sudanese components, except the National Congress Party (NCP) and its affiliates and those who willingly refuse to participate.
Both parties reaffirmed the need to initiate potent activities, to implement the agreed- upon issues, including stopping and ending the ongoing war, address the root causes of the historical crisis, that will eventually lead to a full-fledged democratic civilian-led transition.
