After becoming the first African countries to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar, Ghana’s coach Otto Addo has set a record.

The 46-year-old Ghanaian has become the first Ghanaian to qualify for the World Cup as a player and a coach.

Addo was part of the Ghana team that qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 2006 in Germany, his place of birth. He played in Ghana’s 2-0 win against the Czech Republic and 2-1 over USA in the group stages.

He is also the second Ghanaian to qualify the country to the biggest football tournament in the world after Kwasi Appiah who qualified the team for the tournament in 2014.
