Political Declaration between the Sudan Liberation Movement/Army and the Congregation of the Sudan Liberation Forces
As part of the national endeavors to stop and end the war and find a solution to the Sudanese crisis, a consultative and brainstorming meeting was convened from the 26th of September up to the 30th, 2024 between the Sudan Liberation Movement/Army (SLM/A) and the Congregation of the Sudan Liberation Forces (CSLFs) in the capital of South Sudan Republic, Juba.
Whereas; the delegations of both organizations were represented at a high and distinguished level, the meeting was characterized by the spirit of mutual respect, transparency, clarity of vision and the determination to find a solution to the ongoing crisis, that caused by the savage and pointless war which broke out on 15th of April of the last year and its impact on public life in the country.
However, after thorough deliberations and constructive dialogue, the two partiers reached to a pragmatic shared perspective and accordingly agreed on the following principles:-
Stick to total neutrality in the ongoing conflict, while maintain equal distance between the two parties to the war which erupted in Sudan on 15th of April and still continuing
The current war pose the utmost threat Sudan has ever faced in its modern history that must be stopped without delay, address its root causes and repercussions
Work together in order to surpass the ancient method of alignments and alliances, as well as to unify visions and positions, regarding the building of a broad national front, based on genuine national partnership
To establish a broad national front through genuine partnership between all political forces that call for democratic civil transition and work to stop the war and terminate it, founded on a new principles, foundations and approaches
The necessity for all political forces, the revolutionary armed struggle forces and the civilian forces that believe in stopping the war and addressing its root causes, to participate in the Sudanese – Sudanese dialogue, excluding the National Congress Party and its affiliates or anyone who willingly refuse to participate
The two parties agreed on forming a neutral military alliance to protect civilians, the humanitarian and commercial convoys and ensure the safe movement of civilians and humanitarian workers
To work together to bolster the “ Al Fasher Call Initiative ” which aims to withdraw all the warring forces from Al Fasher city in order to protect civilians and enable humanitarian organizations to deliver their aid to those affected
Based on these principles and objectives mentioned herein, both parties reaffirm their absolute commitment to what has been agreed upon to stop the war and address its root causes and achieve change and build state of equal citizenship
