Statement on the Consultative Meeting of Political and Civil Forces

Through the initiative which pioneered by the Sudan Liberation Movement/Army chaired by Abdul Wahid Mohammed Ahmed Al Nour, deliberations were held in the Kenyan capital Nairobi between 19th – 22ed of January 2025, in a meeting that brought together a wide spectrum of Sudanese political and civil forces, as well as independent figures, at a highly significant time in which our country is undergoing, that suffer from a brutal war which ravaged the nation, killed and displaced its sons and daughters, torn its social texture, and moreover fuelled hate and racism speech, an act that threat the total disintegration and collapse of the whole country.
However; the aim of the meeting was to strengthen and unify efforts, in order to stop and bring speedy end to the wars and build the broadest front ever, to achieve this noble mission and eventually, contribute positively in establishing a Sudanese state, that breaks away from the legacy of the past and envisions a better future for all Sudanese men and women.
The attendees further discussed the developments of the war and its catastrophic humanitarian consequences, including refuge and internal displacement, severe famine, the appalling violations perpetrated by the warring parties against innocent civilians. Therefore; these violations were vehemently condemned in the strongest terms, in addition to, calls were made to hold the perpetrators accountable, while at the same time ensuring justice for the victims and compensation for the losses.
The participants also underscored the priority of addressing the humanitarian catastrophe, stopping and ending the wars, and establish the Sudanese state through a comprehensive peace process, which address the root causes of the problems, and that does not shy away from tackling these problems in deep, genuine and fair manner.
In the meeting which distinguished by frankness, clarity and depth in addressing the root causes of the Sudanese crisis, a consensus was reached on a wide range of issues, besides the delegations affirmed the importance of continuing such consultations with the same spirit to accelerate the building of the broad front, that will shorten the duration of the war and moreover confront the terrorist plots of the National Congress Party (NCP), its Islamic movement and the remnants of the former Sudanese regime, which seek to prolong the war and thwart the glorious December revolution.
Last but not least; the audience sent a direct message to the sons and daughters of Sudan, emphasizing the need to unite, in order to stop and end the war, achieve a just, sustainable, comprehensive and lasting peace, complete the course of December revolution, stand up to hate and racist rhetoric. Our country is in urgent need of this now, without delay.
As final point, the convention offered sincere thanks and gratitude to the sisterly country of Kenya, its people and to his Excellency William Ruto, for hosting countless number of Sudanese refugees and for his invaluable contributions and efforts aimed at stopping the war in Sudan.
