Joint Statement between the National Umma Party & Sudan Liberation Movement/Army

An extra –ordinary consultative meeting was convened in the national capital Juba on 3th of February 2024, between the two delegations from the National Umma Party(NUP) and the Sudan Liberation Movement/Army ( SLM/A); the two delegations were highly represented by both parties to the meeting .

The meeting which its agenda was to stop the ongoing war and confront its humanitarian and social consequences by forming the largest and broad front was characterized by transparency, clarity,and frankness in the common national concern. However; on the closing remarks the two delegations agreed on the following issues :-

1/ The ongoing war which is taking place in the country is the greatest threat ever which Sudan had experienced in its modern history and therefore; must immediately stopped, its root causes fundamentally addressed and its social and humanitarian repercussions adequately healed, in accordance with a genuine national partnership between all political forces which calls for stopping the war.

2/ Forming of a broad national front that does not exclude anyone except the National Congress Party (NCP) and its facades.

3/ Unifying of visions and stands around the establishment of a broad national front that will be the corner stone for a genuine national partnership .
